At the Village at Northstar, shops are more than just shops. We have a 9,000 square foot skating rink surrounded by cozy firepits for you to warm your tired bones by or create a one-of-a-kind s'more masterpiece! There are also a variety of craft stores that provide social activities, entertainment and creative learning experiences for kids and grown-ups.

Ski Programs

Whether you seek adventure, guiding or learning a new sport, or whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned expert, Northstar California has the perfect school for you. The Northstar Ski + Snowboard School features the Northstar Teaching System, where teaching, coaching and guiding styles are consistent from one coach to another. Our Big Easy beginner area, and progression parks are designed to accelerate learning, utilizing very small to medium skiing or riding features. These contemporary teaching and learning systems are unique to our school, and provide an experience you will never want to end.


Getting to Northstar California is easy! We are located about 30 minutes from Reno and roughly three hours from the Bay Area off of Highway 267 exit on Interstate 80 (I-80). Shuttle services are available to Northstar from Reno, North Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, and the Bay Area. Or, save money on gas and help the environment - meetup with friends and family and carpool to the resort. If you're coming from an area outside of Northern California, Northstar is accessible by any of four major airports.
